It's official. Darius Maddox will be a Hokie after committing to the Mike Young's team on Friday. This commitment bolsters the Hokies 2020 recruiting class into the top 10 in the nation. Maddox is a four star guard, currently ranked as the number 75th ranked player in the nation. This is a huge prospect to land for Young and his staff. Maddox will come to Virginia Tech with Joe Bamislle, a fellow top 75, 4 star player. Maddox will attend Oak Hill Academy for his senior season, after transferring from St. Johns in D.C. where he played the last three years.
The one bad thing about Maddox's commitment is that the Hokies no longer have any scholarships left to give for next season. With only one senior this year, Branden Johnson, Mike Young will have to find a way to make room for more scholarships to potentially give to PJ Hall and Henry Coleman.
Overall, a great pickup for the Hokies and Mike Young's recruiting resumé.
