Basketball Makes Coaching Addition

Virginia Tech basketball legend Ace Custis has been added to the Virginia Tech mens basketball coaching staff. Custis helped the Hokies win the 1995 NIT tournament and make the NCAA tournament in 1996. Custis' number 20 jersey was retired in Cassell Coliseum in 1997. Custis made the All Atlantic team twice during his career as a Hokie, scoring 1,706 points and grabbing 1,777 rebounds. His current position is Coordinator of Basketball Relations, which entails community outreach and life skills programs.

In addition to the hire of Ace Custis, Chester Frazier has been promoted to Associate Head Coach. Frazier is new to the Virginia Tech program this year after spending seven years at Kansas State. In his short time in Blacksburg, he has showed how great of a recruiter he is. He has already landed recruits like Darius Maddox for the program. Currently, he is the head recruiter for P.J. Hall, an important prospect for Mike Young and the direction of the program.
